Put your environmental engineering hat on as we build our own air filtration systems.
This is a lab booklet that is prepared for students to use as the learn about air pollution, discover new vocabulary, and have short and long term projects to work on. In the air pollution challenge students will take an air pollution reading over a few days to discover the particulate in the air we breathe, and then design air filters to try and capture particulate pepper.
Students have space for brainstorming solutions, keep track of supplies they use, and a formula to gauge the success of their contraption.
PDF format is easy to use. Documents that print half sheet or print on a letter duplexed to be able to fold into a student booklet. The download comes with a key that has interesting information and things to help students think about the problem, as well as a lesson plan to make sure you as a teacher are prepared!
