Venus is the second planet from the Sun, and due to its runaway greenhouse gasses, it is also the hottest planet in our Solar System. In fact, Venus’ atmosphere is 96% carbon dioxide! The surface temperature of Venus would crisp your cookies instantly, coming in at a sweltering 863 degrees Farenheight!

In our model, Venus has been shrunk down to a mere half inch in diameter, just about the size of a small marble.

Venus is one of the four terrestrial planets, like Earth, and thus made up of hard, rocky materials. It is often called Earth’s sister because it is not only so close to us in orbital distance, but it is almost the same size as Earth as well. The surface of Venus shows evidence of many volcanic eruptions, with smooth volcanic plains covering much of her surface.
